1. Applicants should complete the online abstract registration form on www.isheid.com before Friday January 20, 2012, at midnight. Your email address has to be valid. Abstracts sent by fax, by email or by mail or summaries receipted after the deadline submission will not be considered.

2. Authors may submit several abstracts.

3. Authors can choose whether to submit an oral or poster abstract. The organizers will publish only the work of accepted abstract candidates who are fully registered for the congress.

4. The scientific committee will access each application for inclusion in the conference.

5. Applicants must meet the word limit set by the organizing committee (350 words - Times New Roman 11 - 1 900 characters). All abstracts should be submitted in English. The summary must be structured as below:

A. Introduction

B. Materials and Methods

C. Results

D. Conclusions

6. For a poster application, no more than one simple image should be submitted per application (table or illustration). A limit of 50 words should be observed.

7. Review process: summaries will be assessed anonymously by the scientific committee and will be evaluated by a panel of reviewers according to the following criteria:

• Originality

• Coherence between the method and the results

• Scientific interest

• General presentation

8. Summaries not corresponding to the instructions will not be taken into account.

Applications will be marked by the scientific committee and review panel and an average rating will be attributed to each proposal. In this way, abstracts will be selected for oral or poster presentations.

9. Each selected abstract can be diffused and published by online or printed press.

Applicants will be advised of the scientific committee's final decision in March 2012.
